Goal Revision for a Rational Agent

چکیده
We propose a general framework to represent changes in the mental state of a rational agent due to the acquisition of new information and/or to the arising of new desires; fundamental postulates and properties of the function which generates the goal set are also provided.

The Tyler Rationale and plagiarism: A comparative Analysis of Rational book and it's revision
»Basic principles of curriculum and instruction« book by Ralph Tyler is the most challengeable work in the field of curriculum that has been criticized with various groups. Some of them believe it is a plagiarism and others view it’s questions as a basic for curriculum engineering. Exploring divers ideas toward the Rational and reappraise by comparing it and it's revision are two main purposes ...
متن کاملDynamic Goal Hierarchies
In this paper we introduce and formalise dynamic goal hierarchies. We begin with a formal definition of goals, according to which they are rational desires. In particular, we require that an agent’s goals are coherent; that is, that the agent believes that each goal is jointly realisable with all of the goals which the agent considers to be more important. Thus an agent’s goals form a hierarchy...
متن کاملTowards a Framework for Goal Revision
A rational agent revises its goals if something changes in its mental state. In this paper, we propose (i) a general framework based on classical propositional logic, to represent changes in the mental state of the agent after the acquisition of new information and/or after the arising of new desires; (ii) fundamental postulates that the function which generates the goal set must obey; and (iii...
متن کاملA Belief-Desire Framework for Goal Revision
A rational agent revises its goals when new information becomes available or its “desires” (e.g., tasks it is supposed to carry out) change. In this paper, we propose a logical framework, compatible with BDI theory, to represent changes in the mental state of an agent depending on the acquisition of new information and/or on the arising of new desires. Based on these changes, we estabilish fund...
متن کاملIterated Belief Revision: A Computational Approach
The capability of revising its beliefs upon new information in a rational and efficient way is crucial for an intelligent agent. The classic AGM theory studies mathematically idealized models of belief revision in two aspects: the properties (i.e., the AGM postulates) a rational revision operator should satisfy; and how to construct concrete revision operators. In scenarios where new informatio...
